Run the Service Client with a local user

Some printers need a special working environment for comrce cloudprint. For them, the normal installation of the Service Client isn’t enough. The service needs a real local user account with admin rights. If you entered this account during the installation, you can skip the configuration on this page.

Assign a local user account

Section titled “Assign a local user account”

  1. Open the Start menu, type “Dienste” (Services) and press Enter. The services console opens.

  2. Double-click “cloudprint-Client”.

    The Windows window "Eigenschaften von cloudprint-Client (Lokaler Computer)" (properties of cloudprint-Client), in German, on the "Allgemein" (general) tab. The tabs "Anmelden" (log on), "Wiederherstellung" (recovery) and "Abhängigkeiten" (dependencies) follow. The service name and display name are "cloudprint-Client", the description is "comrce cloudprint lokaler Service". The path points to the comrce_cloudprint folder under "Program Files (x86)". "Starttyp" (startup type) is "Automatisch", the status is "Wird ausgeführt" (running). At the bottom are "OK", "Abbrechen" and "Übernehmen".

  3. Switch to the Anmelden (Log On) tab. Select “Dieses Konto” (This account) and enter the credentials of a local account. “Durchsuchen” (Browse) searches all accounts on the computer.

  4. If another dialog opens, confirm it.

  5. Back in the services list, right-click the “cloudprint-Client” row. Select “Neu starten” (Restart).

The menu lists "Starten" (start, greyed out), "Beenden" (stop), "Anhalten" and "Fortsetzen" (pause and resume, greyed out), then "Neu starten" (restart), which is highlighted. What happens next

If your credentials are correct, the service restarts. comrce cloudprint then takes over your local printer settings.
